Interfaces & Gigasampler
Currently,
there are not any apparent problems associated with Gigasampler
and any of the variety of MIDI Interfaces available on the
market today for the PC. Port limitations that can effect
your installation and operation of Gigasampler can occur
in both Windows 95 and Windows 98, depending on the number
of active MIDI ports you currently have on your machine.
Windows 95 supports up to 10 MIDI ports (160 MIDI channels)
with a 'pseudo' 11th port, while Windows 98 supports 15
MIDI ports (240 MIDI channels) with 'pseudo' 16th port.
If
you've found a compatibility problem with any MIDI interface
and Gigasampler, email
us and we'll make note of it here. We will also update
this section with compatibility and performance information
as well as any workarounds that we can come up with in our
tests.
If
you already have the maximum number of ports active for
each operating system, you may experience problems installing
or running Gigasampler. This can sometimes be remedied by
uninstalling your multi-port MIDI interface before you install
Gigasampler and then reinstalling your interface drivers
afterwards.
For
a listing of MIDI Interfaces currently on the market, refer
to our Guide to MIDI Interfaces.
