Here is an alphabetical listing of sound cards and audio interfaces for the PC. This resource is designed to help you determine if your current audio card or an audio card you are using or thinking about buying is Gigasampler compatible.

New cards that are released or updated that feature Gigasampler support will be added to this list as soon as they are available. We try to keep this information as accurate a possible. Montego/Montego A3D

Information/Notes: Features include basic 18-bit DAC, MPU-401 compatible connector on board. ISA Card. This card has been discontinued by the manufacturer. Street price: $57 usd

Montego II Plus/Home Studio

Information/Notes: Features include 16-bit analog i/o, S/PDIF digital i/o, 4 speaker support for A3D positional audio. PCI Card. Supported through DirectSound. Some users have reported problems with Gigasampler compatibility. Street price: $250 usd

Montego II Quadzilla

Information/Notes: Features include 16-bit analog i/o, 18-bit converters up to 48kHz, S/PDIF digital i/o, 4 speaker support for A3D positional audio. PCI Card. Supported through DirectSound. Some users have reported problems with Gigasampler compatibility. Street price: $100 usd

Pinnacle

Information/Notes: Features include 20-bit analog i/o, on board Kurzweil wavetable synth, on board MIDI i/o, optional S/PDIF i/o. Supported through DirectSound. ISA Card. This card has been discontinued by the manufacturer. Street price: $300 usd w/ Digital i/o

Fiji

Information/Notes: Features include 20-bit analog i/o up to 48khz, MPU-401 compatible connector on board, optional S/PIF daughterboard. ISA Card. This card has been discontinued by the manufacturer. Street price: $219 usd, $269 usd with digital i/o

Daytona PCI

Information/Notes: Features include basic 16-bit analog output, 32-voice DLS wavetable synthesis. Compatibility information not available at this time - Theoretically this card should work via Directsound. If you've successfully been able to use this card with Gigasampler please let us know. Street price: $38 usd

Yamaha (official website)

Soundcrown

Information/Notes: Features include S/PDIF digital output, 16-bit analog output, Sondius XG Wavetable synthesis. PCI Card. Street price: $50 usd

DSP Factory

Information/Notes: Features include DSP mixing power of the O2R series of mixers from Yamaha, customizable I/O options support for 16-bit and up to 32-bit audio resolutions (playback and recording). DSP Factory interface card supports additional I/O breakout boxes (AX44 by Yamaha which features 4 analog inputs and 4 analog outputs and the AX88 by ADB which features 8 i/o of full 24-bit, up to two of which can be chained on one DSP factory card). Optional ADAT option (AX16AT). There is currently no Gigasampler support through DirectSound or GSIF. Support is anticipated in the future. Street price: $830 usd

SW1000XG

Information/Notes: Features include 20-bit analog i/o, on board DSP for basic reverb, delay etc., 16-bit and 32-bit recording/playback resolution. Compatibility/performance notes: Due to problems with Yamaha's DirectSound drivers, you may experience latency problems. Street price: $550 usd Shop for it on-line
