The music business is affected by forces besides music. It's driven by hardwae technological development (AMD, Intel, Microsoft as examples), innovative audio/video delivery formats (MP3, WMA, RealAudio, RealVideo), distribution points (Napster or what's left of it), copyrights, licensing, Internet issues (to tax or not to tax), use of the Net as media delivery system and far more. To keep up, you have to read outside your circle of comfort.
